Chris Rice

Hi! I’m Chris. I got my first guitar when I was 8 years old, in fact, it’s that acoustic guitar I’m holding in my photo!

I immediately started taking guitar lessons from Jim Burgess of Port Elgin. And later, Allan Walker of Owen Sound. I played guitar in the rhythm section of the SDSS ‘Royal Blues’ Jazz Band in High School, taking home Gold 2 consecutive years. Through high school I also took a great interest in classic, modern and instrumental rock which lead to being in several bands with friends.

I studied Multi-Media Design & Production at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Which lead me to a career in the Graphic & Media design field. My career lead me on a cross-country experience-gaining adventure which eventually lead me back to my hometown of Port Elgin.

I’m very excited to be a Guitar Instructor here at Blackboard Sound, please contact Blackboard Sound if you have any more questions!
